Purpose
The Director of Revenue
Management is responsible for overseeing the operations of revenue and reservations
department, creates and maintains standards that maximize hotel revenue and
uphold ADR, occupancy, and RevPAR rates. This role will
oversee distribution strategy of the hotel and manage day to day yield operations.
Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting. Perform competitive
benchmark studies and follow market trends.
Duties
& Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of revenue & reservations department.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Production of the daily / weekly / monthly forecast reports for the
property.
- Production of month end reports and owner presentations
- Formulation and implementation of yield restrictions within the CRS’
(Opera & others) and other channels.
- Analyze & prepare rate & inventory recommendations for all
volume accounts & group business opportunities.
- Analyze & produce recommendations on the timing & nature of
promotions & specials.
- Assist General Manager with the preparation of the annual room revenue
budget & annual pricing strategy.
- Evaluate and maintain the hotels distribution channel strategy
including all on and off-line channels.
- Oversee the inputting and maintenance of the company’s rate offerings
across all distribution channels.
- Manage and improve the online booking functionality of all company
owned websites.
- Preparation of monthly & ad hoc business reports for use by senior
management.
- Analyze the hotel’s total business levels.
- Provide impact analysis for all capital works.
- Analyze & report on airline pricing & availability into the
city from all major markets.
- Oversee the building & maintenance of all rate codes &
marketing fields within the CRS.
- Utilize business intelligence reports to support tactical &
strategic decisions across all markets.
- Prepare reports & chair the weekly yield meeting & participate
within the weekly Groups meeting.
- Assist with the implementation & maintenance of an automated
revenue management system.
- Formulate & implement the demand-based pricing strategy.
- Involvement in ad hoc project management as required as part of the
hotels management team.
- Effectively lead and motivate the department.

- Optimize and expand distribution partnerships.
- Act as overall business development consultant for the hotel
manager/owner.
- Challenge and influence hotel to improve service level and operational
standards.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with levels of staff at
the client hotel.
- Travel regularly to each hotel.
- Embed a revenue management culture.
