The Standard, New York serving as a back drop for Tony Hawk
It's already been a week of surf/skate mayhem in the streets of New York, including the awesome Quiksilver family who has come to New York for the Quiksilver Pro Jam. We are relishing all the pro athletes cavorting in our hotel this week, and the upcoming mash-up of guests we expect for Fashion Week. The Standard has always been known as a "sexy" mixer -- and this week is a prime example.
Last Friday, Tony Hawk and the Birdhouse crew took over Pier 54 in Manhattan on Friday and put on a show for the frothing locals. Pro rider Todd Richards introduces Tony in this video. Expect to see a Standard Hotel interview with Todd himself later this week. He's quite an inspiration himself.
