Thomas Campbell at The Standard, East Village from The Standard Hotel on Vimeo.
Last week, California based artist Thomas Campbell––perhaps the world’s chillest Renaissance man who, FYI, made this beautiful scarf for The Standard––mounted his first New York show at The Half Gallery in over a decade. Before the opening, he turned his Standard, East Village studio into an actual art studio while he put finishing touches on his pieces.
In this video he paints; he skateboards; he talks to us about his art, why he titled his show, “Capture and Release,” and life as a creative custodian ... of sorts.
The show goes through January 30th and also if you're on the LES check out his mural at Max Fish.
