IT Manager
Opening in early 2025, The Standard, Brussels marks the hotel brand’s third outpost in Europe. Set in the city’s Northern Quarter, The Standard, Brussels brings the brand’s design, culture and activation-driven philosophy to Belgium.
With 180 guestrooms (plus 20 residences), the modern, new-build project features many stages for The Standard’s renowned day- and nightlife. A ground-floor greenhouse welcomes guests and locals into the lobby lounge, restaurant, and terrace. Upstairs, The Rooftop features its own restaurant, bar and garden—set to become a neighbourhood destination. Throughout the building, additional public and private event spaces are platforms for happenings.

We are defined by our richness of personality, diversity of background and lifestyle and are now looking for an IT Manager who will embody our ‘Anything but Standard’ ethos as we commence our pre-opening period.
Your role
As our IT Manager, you will work in partnership with our Regional IT Director, General Manager and Senior Executive team to provide a dedicated in-house IT service for our new property in Brussels.
As part of our senior pre-opening team, you will oversee a number of important IT projects on our critical path during the pre-opening period, to ensure that the project runs to schedule, pre-opening budgets are managed, IT systems and protocols are in place and the property is successfully launched.
The IT Manager is responsible for all aspects of the IT infrastructure and services supporting the property, whilst ensuring the highest security and compliance standards are in place to protect data and systems. This role will also be responsible for providing user support to our team and ensuring functional integration of network and LAN hardware components. You will also ensure that all IT systems and hardware are functioning properly, maintain IT contracts and maintenance schedules, and provide AV and Technical support for guestrooms and events.
This is a key role within the business to ensure continuity of our business systems and IT systems are maintained for the comfort of our guests and to ensure our team can maintain service delivery. You will support the senior executive team with the creation of the annual IT budget and plan for system upgrades and the implementation of new technology and platforms to support the business.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring that all GDPR and statutory Data compliance laws in Belgium are adhered to across all systems, with particular regard sensitive and financial data.
This is not a ‘Standard’ IT Manager position so you will need to have miles and miles of personality and stamina, be highly social, upbeat, and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high-volume, high-energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team.
Do you have what it takes to be our IT Manager at The Standard....
A minimum of 5+ years’ progressive experience within an IT Support, Technician or IT Manager role gained within a similar Hospitality environment in Brussels or the wider Benelux region.
In addition to this you may also have….
- Pre-opening Hotel Experience with strong project management skills (including system implementation and setting up of IT protocols)
- Solid understanding of LAN Network/Server Support, carriers and firewalls
- Have previously worked with a range of Hotel Systems Opera PMS, POS, hotel applications and interfaces
- Be well versed in guest room technology with a good working knowledge of AV equipment
- Be well versed in Belgium legal requirements relating to GDPR and Data Protection
- Strong organisational skills, and the ability to work within tight deadlines both individually and within a wider team.
- Fluency in Dutch/French in addition to English is preferred for this role
- During our preopening period you may need to have a flexible approach to working hours
