“Woven”, this year’s theme hosted by Aimee Mullins and Rupert Friend, championed art and culture with a stunning ceiling fabric installation, fabulous art by George Richardson, and of course, our favorite skyline backdrop.
The Sarabande Foundation, founded by the late Lee Alexander McQueen, has an impressive history of supporting emerging artists with the financial, mentorship + studio resources to jumpstart their careers.
The foundation doesn’t just talk the talk - the day before they took over the ground floor of The Standard, East Village for the inaugural U.S. edition of their “What Now?” Career Fair. Representatives from a star-studded list of brands (Celine, Louis Vuitton, Thom Browne, WWD, and more) offered up free 1:1 mentoring sessions with university students + recent grads. Between resume editing and portfolio reviews to networking and content creation, the room was abuzz with Gen-Z’s promising talent.
The energy carried into the next day’s festivities, which counted creative powerhouses Adam Selman, Daniel Roseberry, Rickie de Sole, Sandy Powell and The Sarabande’s own Trino Verkade among attendees.
