Rob Duguay's SONGEVITY 
Our curator, bassist Rob Duguay, brings SONGEVITY Trio, a world class amalgamation of musicians from different backgrounds that fuse together different styles of music, and the result is resounding joy! Elmore Magazine said of their recent album, Safe in Sound: "Rock, world, hard bop, and street are all putty in this energetic trio's imagination and performance."

Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers

Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers seamlessly incorporate elements of Dixieland, Harlem swing, Parisian cabaret, and gut-bucket-blues into one charming musical performance. Saxophonist Ryan Weisheit reimagines a world where Sidney Bechet, Lester Young, and Charlie Parker blow side-by-side. Together Sweet Megg, Ryan, and all The Wayfarers create a world where jazz is alive and living in New York.

The Smoke Rings
The Smoke Rings evoke the elegance and charm of the swing era. Anchored by the unique vocals of Sarah King, the group specializes in songs from The Great American Song Book. The Smoke Rings have played to huge crowds at festivals and for the past six years, the band has been performing weekly at Top of The Standard. 

Tuesday, October 8th

Ryan Weisheit Trio
NYC-based saxophonist and clarinetist Ryan Weisheit began studying saxophone at the age of ten. He studied with the legendary alto saxophonist and educator Bunky Green at the University of North Florida, where he was able to perform with some of the greatest living jazz musicians, including Dave Brubeck, Slide Hampton, Kenny Garrett, and many more. In 2017 he joined the St. Louis-based Americana band, Pokey LaFarge. He also has his own 1920s and '30s swing band, Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers. 

Wednesday, October 9th
James Weidman's Aperturistic Trio 
James Weidman is one of the most versatile pianists in the world of music. He has performed with the likes of Abbey Lincoln and Joe Lovano, and plays classical and atonal music. With a player as talented as Weidman, it's no wonder the press used terms such as "unfailingly lyrical," "convivially assertive," and "exquisite" to describe him.

Dario Boente Group
Immersed in the culture of tango and jazz, Argentine pianist and composer Dario Boente is a musician who is equally at home performing romantic Argentine and jazz compositions on a grand piano as he is programming world-beat electronica. Since moving to NYC in 1999, Dario has released ten albums and compilations and worked with world class jazz musicians such as Antonio Sanchez, Ronny Jordan, and Fernando Otero, and DJs such as Louie Vega and Kerri Chandler.

Carolina Calvache Trio
Pianist Carolina Calvache is the first Colombian to be part of the roster of recording musicians from the prestigious New York music label, Sunny Side Records. She was selected for the 2011 Mary Lou Williams Woman in Jazz Festival for outstanding artists and released her debut album, Sotareño, in 2014. Legendary pianist Toshiko Akiyoshi described her music as “extraordinary and marvelous”.

Jon Davis Trio
Pianist and composer Jon Davis has been performing and touring with the world's finest jazz musicians for over 25 years and has appeared on more than 50 recordings. Most widely known for his association with legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius, Davis has shown a rare versatility that ranges from solo to big band. He has performed with such artists as the John Handy Quartet, Johnny Coles, Buddy Montgomery, as well as jazz legends Joe Henderson, Milt Jackson, and Stan Getz.

David Bryant Trio
New York pianist, composer and multi-instrumentalist David Bryant is a world-class artist who combines his extensive knowledge of the jazz tradition and other diverse musical idioms with an individualistic approach and sound. He has recently recorded projects with Steve Davis, Myron Walden, and Abraham Burton and is currently recording and performing various projects of his own.

Mariella

Mariella is a soulful vocalist and mainstay of the New York City circuit. Her masterful songwriting has earned her accolades worldwide, including being named Billboard World Songwriting Contest's Grand Prize Winner in 2008, and a John Lennon Songwriting Contest Honorable Mention. She is also the co-creator and co-host of one of NYC’s longest-running and most critically acclaimed hip-hop jam session, Freestyle Mondays. 

Wednesday, October 23rd

Hyuna Park
Born in Masan, South Korea in 1984, pianist Hyuna Parkstarted receiving formal training at the age of three. After attending KyungHee University, where she was awarded two scholarships, Park enjoyed a successful career with steady performing engagements, movie and TV soundtracks. In 2010, she decides to take her career to a new level and moves to New York City, where she has become an integral part of both the New York jazz scene. She has shared the stage with Grammy-winners Vincent Herring, Luis Bonilla, Linda Oh, Michel Mossman... She regularly performs with the Avalon Jazz Band, A Mighty Good Thing, The Redbirds and, of course, her own band: the Hyuna Park Trio.

Axel Tosca Laugart Trio
Axel Tosca is a New York-based Cuban Jazz pianist and composer with Folk, Timba, Hip-Hop, and Funk influences. He was born in Cuba, into a prestigious musical family. His mom is the legendary Cuban vocalist Xiomara Laugart. Raised in Havana, he started playing piano when he was seven. Axel has been part of Jazz band (U)nity for several years.

Hila Kulik Trio

Hila Kulik was born in Afula, Israel and began studying piano at the age of 8. She graduated from the Jerusalem Academy in 2010, and after playing with many of the top musicians of Israel, Hila moved to New York in 2014, earning her master's degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. Currently Hila works as an advisor and coordinator for the jazz program at the Aaron Copland School of Music, in addition to performing with her own band, and well established jazz musicians in New York and abroad.
