About The Charlie Factory:
The artist will present a series of performances demonstrating his provocative visual imagination, in which the gendered body is enhanced or disabled by transparent veils, prosthetic masks, towering headpieces or illuminated plexiglass limbs. In covering his performers’ bodies with silver glitter or body suits made of hair extensions, they are radically transfigured -- liberating them from common human appearance.
Charlie le Mindu’s sculptures and performance compositions have been exhibited in numerous institutions including the Foundation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain, Palais de Tokyo and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Additional projects, including art direction of the storefront windows at Galeries Lafayette Paris and Bordeaux, reflect his singularly dramatic, offbeat approach to synthesizing art and fashion.
