Artist of the Day

Léon Moh Cah Sees Bangkok With Her Own Two Eyes

Some artworks feel like a fantasy. Others, a memory. Léon Moh Cah (one of our very favorite animators and sketch artists) slows down to absorb real-time observations, then recreates them in gorgeous compositions. Following a collab with The Standard, London, two of Léon’s newest works are landing at The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon—drawn from the atmosphere in Tease and The Parlor.

It’s all to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025: Léon’s style is packed with curiosity, travel references and what she sees with her own two eyes. On her trip to Bangkok, Léon didn’t just take a few reference shots—she absorbed the vibe, energy, light, and then turned those sense memories into two stunning new works. Each stroke translates her experience in the space, making the pieces feel as lively as the rooms she observes.

Léon’s bounced between Paris and London to discover her creative voice. She’s got degrees in graphic design and animation from her time in Paris and a Master’s from London’s Royal College of Art in London—reflecting her skill with both digital and traditional techniques. But besides those impressive credentials, Léon’s observational style sets her apart. Whether sketching street scenes or chic hotel lounges, she calls her work a “love letter” to everyday moments, suspended in time.
