This Wednesday, July 10th, Desert Nights at The Standard, Hollywood celebrates three years of acoustic music. It all began with Tears For Fears' lead singer, Curt Smith, and since then we've had live performances by Devendra Banhart, The Blank Tapes, Eagles of Death Metal, Escondido, The Peach Kings, Beachwood Sparks, Father John Misty, Husky, Penguin Prison, Rachel Goodrich, Michael Runion, Justine Bennett, and countless others. Curated by KCRW DJ Valida, Desert Nights has become one of LA's premier venues for California folk and acoustic. Best of all, it's always free!
This Wednesday, we're kicking it up a notch and taking the performances poolside. We'll be featuring a special Desert Nights themed cocktail menu, the kids from Rony's Photo Booth will be on hand to document the occasion, and the line-up is anniversary special: Z Berg (from The Like and JJAMZ), The Chances (self-described purveyors of “make out music”), and Tashaki Miyaki (California lo-fi and sun-kissed vibes). So, stop by, sit back, relax, and enjoy some great music under the starry night sky.
