This summer, we tapped the European Union National Institute for Culture to reimagine the wall of The Standard, East Village’s South Garden.
The final piece, suitably named, “Garden of Collective Futures”, is a public art project organized by EUNIC New York and the Austrian Cultural Forum of New York. Artists from ten different countries within EUNIC collaborated on this design and installation under the creative lead of Ukrainian-born, New York-based artist Misha Tyutyunik.
In a time where the world feels increasingly divided, this artistic exchange between Europe and the U.S. emphasizes the importance of international cultural cooperation. The installation took place over several days in June of 2024 and include the following participating artists:
Rob Anderson (Hungary) | Riivo Kruuk (Estonia) | David Leitner (Austria) | Julius Ludavičius (Lithuania) | Radu Pandele (Romania) | Jan Deejoohcee Rosius (Belgium/Flanders) | Rosa Sarholz (Germany) | Asia Sztencel (Poland) | Misha Tyutyunik (Ukraine/US) | Věrka Vybíralová (Czech Republic)
Catch the mural masterpiece for yourself, on view through June of 2025 at the corner of 3rd Ave & East 5th St.
