Victorine started her journey with perfumery some years ago, when she had a gravitating desire to return to the roots of fine perfumery which included highly healing oils. What sets Victorine’s journey with perfumery apart from others is her exploration into the use of cannabis and the terpenes found in the versatile plant. Her goal was to merge the powers and magic that plants can offer, namely cannabis and various botanicals.
At The Standard Spa Miami during Art Basel you can discover Dusted through an immersive experience curated by Victorine herself. Before getting down and dusted ourselves, we caught up with Victorine to see what these small alluring blue bottles are all about.
The Standard: What does dusted mean?
Victorine Deych: It’s about dusting the world and people with things that elevate. My play on drug slang. It’s street slang for adding hard drugs to weed, so I thought well I want to add the best stuff to fragrance and people’s lives in general, so I spun the word. I also feel that drugs is a good word, just check out Webster’s ha.
Why blue?
Blue is positivity, divinity and loyalty therefore it serves as the perfect protector of the fine ingredients used in Dusted.
Are there particular scents that you are drawn to? Particular energies?
I’m obsessed with wood resins, and I scour the world for the rarest ones used in ceremonies in various cultures. The energies that I’m drawn to help individuals in sensuality and a deeper connection with oneself.

Please tell us a little about your journey and how Dusted was born?
Through my desire to return to the roots of fine perfumery which includes highly healing oils I felt I had to create something with the Cannabis plant. This led to the exploration of terpenes which are the very potent molecule that give plants their aromatic profile. The cannabis plant has the most complex and beneficial terpene profile, so I just knew I had the privilege to create magic. It’s a very delicate process to retain the benefits while providing a very delicate aromatic profile.
The process sounds totally unique can you explain a little what goes into the making of Dusted, your collaborators and community.
Yes the attention the detail as well the height of quality control I maintain is very unique. It’s also very hands on. I personally visit farms, distilleries and am super excited to be shortly announcing my terpene supply partnership. The combination of these elements allows me to share a truly unmatched offering.
What are the golden bubbles?
The bubbles represent those created when I’m blending in the lab. They would mesmerize me during the creation process, and I felt they are the visual representation of what I share with the world.
What’s your favorite part of being here in Miami?
It’s a tropical paradise with a lot of flavor. I love the beach and the sexy vibe. And the hotel ? This property is a true oasis with the most incredible culture. It’s absolutely unique, and I feel truly privileged by being welcomed here.
If you were a food what food would you be?
A mangoustan fruit of course ha.
