There's no one in Hollywood quite like Jena Malone. She brings a scrappy, unreserved, possibly unhinged, but admirable strength to her characters. She's also surprisingly un-famous for someone who has has been in so many great films, namely Donnie Darko (2001), Saved! (2004), Pride & Prejudice (2005), and Into the Wild (2007), as well as a couple of solid blockbusters like Contact (1997), Stepmom (1998) and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013).
Jena also likes to sing. Accompanied by Lem Jay Ignacio, she formed the musical entity The Shoe which Smagazine described as, "Feist-discovers-Loudon-Wainwright's-medicinecabinet-and-collaborates-with-This-Mortal-Coil sound."
They've been playing together on and off for a few years now, but are set to release their first full-length album I'm Okay on June 3. Stay turned for the second video for The Shoe by Vice's Noisy Acoustics.
Insider's Tip: If you're staying at The Standard, Hollywood then head down to the Lobby to see a piece by Jena in Flowers For The Moon.
