The Standard has always been part of promoting gender equality and celebrating the power of being a woman; last year we hosted a string of female lead events and this year, our dinner at Croft Alley at The Standard, Hollywood honored leading women artists like Wendy Yao, Zoe Latta, Sonya Sombreuil, Guadalupe Rosales and Asmara for innovating and driving LA culture. The dinner was hosted by our creative director of food and culture, Angela Dimayuga who chose the women based on their unique talent. Looking Up 2 You, as the night was named, also celebrated contributors to the newly opened The Shop; Feveroom, NO SESSO, Tuza, Jen shear, COME TEES and Bunny Jr. Tapes are all female powered companies that are included in the diverse selection at the store.
Designed with a sense of discovery in mind, The Shop at The Standard introduces touch points of retail culture unique to each property, while also providing out of the box international and tongue in cheek add-ons for any traveler.
French pharmacy favorites are stocked alongside crystal-embellished troll dolls from Blonde Omen, next to Korean sheet masks, JUULs, condoms and signature Standard Label merch. Wrapped Palo Santo sage products line the shelves, next to need to know streetwear and fashion brands, and a unique rack of couture pieces from a 30-year-old archive provided by Mona Moore, featuring pieces from Vivienne Westwood, Comme des Garçons, and Maison Margiela.
