Floor Supervisor
Job Purpose:
To supervise cleaning personnel; to inspect guest rooms, service apartment, to ensure cleanliness in all public access areas including offices, outlets, rest-rooms, to report rooms ready for occupancy after cleaning, and to manage the supply and distribution of all linens and uniforms. Suggest and develop own training programs to improve efficiency, productivity and performance. Maintain a worksheet to record rooms inspected daily, assignments for housemen, special projects, guest room status, maintenance deficiencies and significant events and activities during shift.
Basic Función:
- Inspects all rooms of assigned area on a daily basis to ensure that all furnishings, facilities and equipment are clean and in good repair as per Hotel standard.
- The Supervisor is fully responsible for the cleanliness of each and every assigned guest room and it’s reported status to the Front Office
- To ensure guest requests are met and company policies and standard procedures are implemented and maintained.
- To co-ordinate the spring cleaning / extra work schedule / maintenance requisitions of rooms with the Assistant Housekeeper and ensures such schedules and requests are followed.
- Maintains appropriate standards and discipline for dress, hygiene, uniform, appearance, posture and conduct of Housekeeping personnel.
- Monitors and controls Housekeeping tasks, such as lost and found, key control, security and emergency procedures that help maintain the health and security of personnel and guests.
- Ensures that all necessary tools, supplies, and equipment are available and maintained for daily operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the implementación of housekeeping standards and procedures in relation to:
- Bedroom service
- Bathroom service
- Valet service
- Cleaning service
- Linen maintenance
- Recommended changes to these standards and training needs on an ongoing basis
- Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all housekeeping systems
- Open and close the shift and ensure effective shift hand over
- Distribution and collection of keys
- Management of all incoming and outgoing calls
- Solve employee grievances
- Perform Room allocations
- Perform Room inspections
- Priorities arrival rooms
- Liaise with Front Office for guest and hotel requirements
- Ensure guest valet is processed and delivered in a timely manner
- Co-ordinate special projects (eg site rooms, vermin control, window and carpet cleaning, room inventories)
- Manage all special requests made by guests
- Ensure consistency within the department
- Management of lost property for the hotel
- Ensure you have complete knowledge of room types, layouts and facilities
- Manage storage areas
- Maintain adequate stock levels
- Complete stock takes as required
- Maintain stock levels
- Conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
- Works with Superior and Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs
