Manager, Assistant Recreation

Job Purpose:

 

As the Assistant Recreation Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding recreational experiences for our guests. You will oversee all recreational activities, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction, and managing a team of recreation staff. Your passion for hospitality and dedication to excellence will be key to enhancing the guest experience at our hotel.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promotor and overseer of all recreational activities and facilities in the resort. Together with your team you will ensure a unique Guest Experience by offering sports, wellness, and discovery trips, along with premium facilities & services. aimed at positively impacting the wellbeing of our guests.

•  Direct the promotion, upselling and execution of the daily activity & sport programs.

•  Ensure quality, health, safety, and hygiene standards are upheld in all areas, as per local and international regulations.

•  Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors, including location, product offering, pricing, promotion, and sales techniques.

•  Ensure team members are familiar with all areas of the recreation operation, including product knowledge and retail sales.

•  Assist in the recruitment, development, and training of all recreation team members.

•  An understanding of current trends in fitness, extensive knowledge of specific class being taught.

•  Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, muscular function, exercise program implementation, safe group exercise or instructional procedures, and use of related class materials and/or equipment.

•  Lead and motivate team members to a level of service, which exceeds all guest expectations by facilitating teamwork and ensuring all duties are performed in a consistent manner and in the time allocated.

•   To maintain close contact with guests, receiving feedback regarding the operation of the spa and recreational facilities of the hotel.

•   Ability to manage cultural diversity.

•   Meet requirements of VIP guests.

•   Express continuous commitment to participant development.

•   Advocate of safety and risk management.

•   To promote the Fitness area, Personal training sessions, Classes.

•   Encourage sales through full product and price knowledge of offered and available facilities.

•   Act in accordance with all hotel policies, personnel policies, spa policies and procedures including all Health and Sanitary regulations.

•   Provide optimum service through staff training, coaching, feedback and ensuring adequate staffing levels.

•   Monitor products and accessories used in the Spa & Recreation department to ensure all budgets are achieved and adhered to.

•   To assist in the preparation of yearly operating, operation equipment and capital expenditure budget.

•   Prepares daily revenue reports.

•   Prepares monthly usage reports.

•   Offers suggestions and makes recommendations to the management on ideas for improving the spa operation and performance.      

•   Full responsibilities of the Gym & Health Club equipment maintenance.      

•  Following on maintenance contract and warranties.        

•   Coordinate with Engineering for all pool equipment maintenance.      

 Following on chemical purchase & usage in the HC.

•  Other duties as assigned.

 

Physical Requirements:

 2 Years experience in a similar role in a 5-star hotel environment.

•  Fluency in both written and spoken English

•  Budget management experience.

•  University/College degree in a related discipline required.

•  Computer literate in Microsoft applications required.

•  Excellent communication and organizational skills

•  Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

•  Highly responsible & reliable

•  Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous.

•  Positively contribute to sales activities thereby maximizing revenue along with the ability to solve

    problems effectively

•  Positive and proactive individual with an outgoing, charismatic

•  Approachable character and with a high aptitude for customer care

•  Strong leadership skills and with the capability to motivate and guide

•  Have the ability to develop and build relationships easily
