This will be the sixth year that André Balazs Réserve has ventured to precipitate the essence of summer into a pink wine called rosé. Mr. Balazs found not one, but two accomplices this year to aid him in his rosé swilling. The first is the local Long Island winery Channing Daughters in Bridgehampton and the second comes all the way from Chateau Minuty in Provence. The Minuty is a blend of Grenache, Tibouren and Cinsault grapes, so, that should mean something.
Ashly Santoro, Wine Director at The Standard, East Village describes The Channing Daughter blend as "light to medium in weight; bright red fruit, full of raspberry, cranberry & cherry notes, great structure and acidity."
Apparently both rosés, if drunken in enough quantity cause a sort of temporal euphoria and lowering of inhibitions. Magical.
Salut!
