In Case You Missed Bangkok Pride...

It was major.

This wasn’t just any Pride Month in Thailand. In June, the Thai government legalized same-sex marriage—becoming the first Southeast Asian country to do so! When something that major happens during the happiest time of the year, the only choice is how to celebrate. We went all out at The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon with some of our closest friends in fashion and entertainment.

From Takara Wong’s Parlor takeover to Standard Talks and brunch, brunch, brunch—it was everything. Here’s a recap of what went down...

Pre-Parade Get Together in The Parlor

The annual Pride Parade is *always* a time to look your best—we made that a little easier this year! We hosted a “getting ready” party with face paint by Wibwabwub and some of our favorite queens from Drag Race Thailand. Trust us, Bangkok wasn’t ready for how stunning we looked.

Takara Wong Takes Over Launch Party

For Pride, designer Takara Wong turned The Parlor into his canvas—bringing shades of Bang Saen to Bangkok. We couldn’t let the collab happen without throwing a huge party to celebrate, so some of our mutual friends came over. It was every bit as stylish as you’re thinking…

Standard Talks Pride in The Parlor

As you can tell, The Parlor was the place to be this Pride Month. On June 15, we hosted a special edition of Standard Talks with LGBTQ+ advocates from Thai media, politics and culture. From TV personalities to an advisor to the United Nations Development Programme, we put our heads together and talked it out.

Drag Me to Drinks in The Parlor

It wouldn’t be Pride without a blockbuster drag show. This year, the dress code was Rodeo Queens, of course. Queens Morrigan Xaster, Too Calderone and Ukriss Garage turned the party upside down, with beats by DJ Peachii. You didn’t want to miss the country-style fashion show by Leisure Projects, either.

Quick Cupid LGBTQ+ Edition at Double Standard

Our friends at OMG Matchmaking know a thing or two about finding love, and they shared that expertise at an evening of good-old fashioned speed dating. Guests in Double Standard vied for endless love—as well as a one-night stay upstairs.

Pride Brunch by G-Spot in The Standard Grill

Brunch is the most important meal of the day—especially during Pride Month. Our Pride Brunch was a daytime extravaganza with fab food, drinks and good vibes.
