A Guide to Brussels' Northern Quarter

Welcome to ZIN. Our new home in Brussels repurposing and reconceptualising the city’s WTC Towers. Nestled in the emerging Northern Quarter of Brussels, our newest Standard opening is perfectly located to discover the city or even hop over the channel to our London property. Whether arriving by train, bus, bike, or on foot, this area is seamlessly connected to every part of Brussels and beyond, making it a perfect base for exploring the city.
Just a short walk to the east, you'll find Tour & Taxis, a monumental former industrial complex that has been transformed into a vibrant cultural venue. This sprawling site hosts everything from art exhibitions and concerts to food markets and design fairs, offering a mix of industrial charm and modern creativity. It offers a perfect window into the revitalization of Brussels' northern edge.

Alongside it runs Brussels’ largest green space. Former train tracks have made space for urban farming, with the likes of Parckfarm popping up in recent years. This incredible concept reappropriated the space and brought shared orchards, greenhouses, a chicken coop, beehives and even a bread oven to the area.

So, if you didn't realise it by now, Brussels loves to repurpose...

Discover LaVallée, a former 6000m² industrial laundry in Molenbeek that blends work, creativity, and community. Offering everything from workshops and offices to coworking spaces, this place is a playground for creatives. With shared spaces and top-notch services, LaVallée gives you the flexibility to work how you want, while also plugging you into a dynamic community of over 150 residents. But that’s not all, whether on its own initiative or in coproduction, LaVallée organizes a plethora of events: Apéros LaVallée (a weekly Friday afterwork during the summer), local markets, open-air cinemas etc.

KANAL – Centre Pompidou is an addition to Brussels’ vibrant art scene we’re most excited about. This museum, linked to the Paris institution, is housed in the iconic former Citroën Garage. Set to open in 2026, KANAL promises to be the largest cultural institution in Brussels and a dynamic cultural hub promoting modern and contemporary art, as well as architecture. While renovations are still underway, the museum is already welcoming visitors at its temporary location, K1, on 1 Avenue du Port/Havenlaan.
Whilst on the art route, take a short 10-minute stroll South and you’ll find Galerie Greta Meert, a must-visit in the area. Known for its curated exhibitions of cutting-edge artists, this prominent gallery pushes the boundaries of what art can be. Whether showcasing avant-garde installations or minimalist sculptures, the gallery embodies the spirit of Brussels' progressive art scene and offers a sharp contrast to the more traditional galleries found in the city.
Head a little further south –west to Le Botanique, one of the city's many music venues. Housed in a former botanic garden and dating back to the 19th century, this intimate venue attracts a wide range of artists, from emerging indie bands to international acts. With its ornate architecture and intimate setting, Le Botanique is as much a cultural landmark as it is a hotspot for music lovers, offering an eclectic programme of events year-round.
As the area continuous to redevelop, expect more exciting venues to pop up, growing Brussels North in prominence, and becoming an even more desirable destination for creatives and culture-seekers alike.
