Last week, Frieze New York kicked off on Randall’s Island, and for a few days the city’s cultural winds shifted offshore. While we always make the annual pilgrimage—where else can you see so much cutting-edge contemporary art in one place?—this year we unveiled a booth of our own at the fair: Ring Your Rep, our tricked out phone booth with a direct line to Congress. We sent our friend Paige Elkington (@myfriendpaige) to the fair to find out what the art set is thinking about politics and activism, and which issues they care about most deeply.
