DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTEST: The Standard Time Code contest (the
“Contest”) is designed to have participants complete a word jumble. There is no
cost to enter and NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY. By participating in the Contest,
you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or
associated with any social media site.
Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest will be directed
to the Sponsor.
SPONSOR: The Contest is sponsored by Standard International Management, LLC located at 23 E 4th Street, NY, NY 10003 (the “Sponsor”).
ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to participants 18 years of age or older on September __, 2016 (the “Participants”). Employees, officers and contractors of (1) a Sponsor and (2) the parent companies, affiliates and subsidiaries of the Sponsor (collectively, "Affiliates"), and their immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings and spouse, regardless of where they reside, and/or those living in the same household of each) are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Participants may enter the Contest beginning September 7, 2016 and ending on November 30, 2016 (the “Contest Period”). To submit an entry, Participants must complete and send in the correct answer to the word jumble to theeditors@standardhotes.com (the “Contest Materials”).
WINNER: The winner will be picked by December 7, 2016 at random from all Participants (the “Contest Winner”) and notified by email.
ODDS: Odds of winning will depend on the number of Participants.
PRIZE: One (1) Contest Winner will be chosen among all eligible entries. The Contest Winner will receive a one (1) night stay at The Standard location of their choice (the “Prize”). The Prize is valued at approximately $400 total (depending on time and location). The Prize is subject to blackout dates, non-transferable and is not redeemable for other products, services or monetary value and any portion of the Prize that is not used by March 1, 2017 is forfeited. Transportation to/from the Hotel and incidentals at the Hotel are not included and a credit card is required at check-in.
WARRANTY AND INDEMNITY: Participants warrant that their entries are original and that they are the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder of the submitted entries and that they have the right to submit the entries in the Contest. Each Participant agrees not to submit any entry that (1) infringes any third party proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or confidentiality obligations; or (2) otherwise violates applicable U.S. law.
RELEASE: By entering the Contest, Participants agree, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable law, to release, forever discharge and hold harmless Sponsor and its Affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, and each of their owners, directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, injury or loss to person or property, costs and expenses, suffered by the Released Parties, arising from or relating to Participant’s participation in the Contest, Participant’s acceptance, use or misuse of the Prize, or Sponsors’ use of the Content, including, without limitation, any claims based on defamation, violation of publicity rights, privacy rights, personality rights, moral rights, or intellectual property rights, including copyright infringement and trademark infringement. If the Contest Materials contain any material or elements that are not owned by the Participant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the photograph, the Participant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photograph, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the photograph in the manner set forth in these Official Rules without additional compensation. If any person appearing in any photograph is under the age of majority in their state/province/territory of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: By entering into this Contest, Participants grant to Sponsors and their Affiliates an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free unrestricted, exclusive license and right to use, reproduce, copy, edit, modify, create derivative works of, display, exhibit, print, advertise, distribute, publish, broadcast publicly or otherwise and exploit all Contest entry materials and all photographs taken at the Event or any part thereof, including without limitation, Participant’s name, hometown, likeness, biographical information, photographs, prize won and any other information provided (collectively, the “Content”), whether alone or in combination with other materials (including but not limited to text, data, images, photographs, illustrations, and graphics, video or audio segments of any nature) in any advertising, promotion, publicity or merchandising, in any and all languages, formats, and media, now known and later devised, without further permission, review, notice or compensation of any kind. Display or publication of any entry on a Sponsor’s website or social media outlet does not indicate the Participant will be selected as a winner. Sponsors will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use. Additionally, by entering, each Participant grants to Sponsor’s the unrestricted right to use all statements made in connection with the Contest, and pictures or likenesses of Contest entrants, or choose not to do so, at their sole discretion. Sponsors will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use.
WINNER NOTIFICATIONS: The Contest Winner will be notified by ____________via _________________. Participants are responsible for notifying the Sponsor of changes in their email. Winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability/Publicity Release within 14 days of the date printed on notification or will be disqualified. For all failures of potential winners to respond, or undeliverable attempts, a new winner will be selected from among applicable entries. Prizes will be awarded within 30 days of receipt of executed affidavits. All taxes on the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Contest Winner. The Sponsor reserves the right to withhold taxes or other payments as it deems necessary to comply with applicable law.
WINNERS LIST: For the name of the Contest Winner, send a self-addressed stamped envelope at least 25 days after the Contest ending date to the Sponsor. The Contest Winner may also be posted online on the Sponsor’s website or social media pages.
ELIMINATION: Any false information provided for the Contest by any Participant or non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions may result in Participant’s elimination from the Contest.
PRIVACY: Participants agree that personal data including, but not limited to, name and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used for the purposes of conducting and administering the Contest, and to verify a Participant’s identity in the event a Participant wins the Prize. If a Participant does not provide the required data when requested, then Participant’s entry may be ineligible for the Prize. Except as described in these Terms and Conditions, all information provided will be maintained in accordance with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. Participants understand and agree that this information is being provided to the Sponsor and not the Social Media Outlet.
INTERNET: No responsibility is assumed for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination thereof. Sponsor is also not responsible for any injury or damage to Participant’s or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in or downloading any materials for the Contest. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE SPONSOR BY THREATENING THE STAFF OR ANY OTHER POSSIBLE REASON IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL & CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw and cancel the Contest if it becomes technically corrupted, (including if a computer virus or system malfunction impairs its ability to conduct the Contest) or for any other external reason.
