Three busts now watch over the laptop users, meeting takers and coffee drinkers in The Library Lounge at The Standard, London.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross with its double-decker red busses and luggage-toting tourists, three men; Antinous, Roman Emperor Hadrian's lover, Lucius Versus, the Joint Roman Emperor alongside Marcus Aurelius and Zeus, Greek King of the Gods have been figuratively unearthed by Daniel Arsham and cast in hydrostone to live again in enduring grandeur.
Daniel Arsham and The Standard go way back—from parties on Sunset Boulevard to his Pixel Clouds installation at The Standard, East Village (2014). As the art world innovator celebrates a 20-year partnership with Gallery Perrotin, artworks from the last two decades are popping up at The Standard London and The Standard, High Line.
To mark the installation of three pieces at The Standard, London, Arsham and Gallery Perrotin hosted a soirée in Sweeties. Guests sipped champagne, grooved to Martelo DJ-ing and cheers to the kick-off of Frieze London 2023.
