Standard Talks: Elephant Magazine Q&A with Ayana V Jackson

Elephant magazine hosts an intimate conversation between Ayana V Jackson and Ngaire Blankenberg (director of Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art) ahead of the artist's 2022 exhibition.

Jackson’s potent images explore the impact of the colonial gaze on photography and the human body. In Elephant’s Autumn/Winter issue, she speaks with artist John Akomfrah about the emotive capacity of images, and the impact of staging and costuming on viewers’ understanding of past and present. 

Join us in The Standard, London's The Library Lounge to celebrate the launch of Elephant’s Autumn/Winter 2021 issue, to coincide with Frieze London in nearby Regent's Park.
